I was very sad to hear the news about Betty. We used to live in the same village. After my husband passed away, we started visiting one another and became friends. I would walk in the village and go by her house, and I would knock on her door and she was happy to see me. I don't know how many cups of tea we had together. Or she would see me going by and open the door to say hello and would invite me in. Sometimes, we walked together or would go to a restaurant. She was kind, generous and caring. She offered me her friendship and a place where I could go for hugs, tea and goodies. I really needed that. The last time I saw her was in her house in Napanee a few years ago. We sat together and looked at some pictures. And I told her how important she had been in my life. She was happy to hear that. I will never forget my friend Betty. Love you, Betty!

Expressing our Sincere Sympathy to Elwood, Betty's children & their families.
Betty, was my husband Wayne Brown's Gr. 7, 8 teacher at Leinster, one room school, on Cty Rd. 12 in (old)Richmond Twp.
It was her first school after graduating Teacher's College.
Wayne lost track of his favourite teacher for many years,, but they rekindled a wonderful friendship & included me & Wayne's father, Elwood , in "lunch out date" several times a year. Betty was a warm, welcoming, delightful lady & we are all the better for sharing friendship times with her & reviving old memories during our visits. May Betty Rest in Perfect Joy & Peace. Wayne & Linda Brown

I am sorry to learn the sad news of Betty. Yet I am truly blessed to have had the time I did with your mom and getting to know you guys ❤️. I recall one of my last days at JMPC and she hadn't been doing the greatest. She was getting ready for breakfast, I stopped to just say hello. She was having a good morning, I could just tell in her eyes, so focus on me. I was telling her about Bernie being retired and of course the farm. Betty was nodding and following right along. I told her I had to leave and she took my hand and thanked me for stopping and I swear she said my name. It brought tears to my eyes it meant a lot that she knew me.
I am glad I had the time to get a glimpse of the Betty everyone told me about.
May you be blessed with those precious memories she gave you. ❤️

Barb and my condolences to the Grant and Russell families. We first met Betty and Laverne many years ago through church activities. Then in 2011 Betty and Elwood joined us on a trip to Israel. Betty was such a pleasure to travel with.

Brian and I have many fond memories of Betty. He has known her since he was just a little boy and I've known her since Brian and I started dating mid 70's.
She was a wonderful lady, gracious, kind and caring. I will always remember how she used to use your name when she was talking to you.. a simple, but lovely gesture that made you feel so special.
She used to deliver freshly made donuts on Christmas Eve when we were first married and were they delicious!
Years later we became walking buddies when I joined the neighbourhood morning walking group and her demenour sure made getting out of bed at 5 am much easier to take.
We were sad when she moved out of the village but happy that she had found Elwood, after losing Laverne and wished them every happines.
One of the last times we saw her was at a resteraunt in Napannee when we were out for dinner. Big smiles and big hugs ensued and it's a memory I will cherish.
Sincere condolences to Roger, Cheryl, Karl and their families. Rest in peace, dear Betty, we will miss you.

Roger and family…
Chrissy & I are so sad to hear of Aunt Betty’s passing. She was a wonderful Aunt and I always felt loved and encouraged when I was with her. Elwood and Aunt Betty came to our wedding in Nova Scotia (taking the long train ride as I recall). We will always remember that with gratitude. Prayers for you all as you grieve. Love & Prayers, Jason & Chrissy.

My sincere condolences to the Grant Family.
I remember Mrs Grant very well as I grew up living across the road from the Grant's in the big stone house. As children Roger and me spent a lot of time tobogganing on the hill at the back of there Barnard Mrs Grant would have a nice warm cup of hot chocolate ready for us when we were finished having fun.
I remember her playing a tune for us kids on her old player piano many times.
She was a wonderful lady and I'm sure she will be missed by many!
Rest in peace Mrs Grant!
