So many happy memories of Auntie Pauline all the way from being this incredibly adventurous person who had gone from Fleetwood to Canada in the 1950s to make a new life through to being an amazingly resilient lady who made it all the way to 100 and was still doing a good turn on Skype! I can still remember treading the sand to bring up cockles on Cleveleys beach on her first visit “home” in the early 1960s after the family had emigrated, what in later years were almost annual visits back to Fleetwood and the joy she gave my Mum and Dad by being there at their Ruby, Golden and Diamond wedding celebrations (see Diamond photograph including Ken and Angela)!! I think that illustrates more than anything the really powerful bond between my Mum and “our Pop”. As it said on the frame around the photograph of them together that was up in my parents kitchen for years “Sisters by birth, friends by choice”. In later years she has been a wonderful source of fascinating information about the Peake family (and the goings on at 71 Adelaide Street) and life in early to mid 20th century Fleetwood. The fact that I have told so many people about her and the story of her life shows, I think, how proud I am that she was my Aunt and how often she was in our thoughts despite being so far away. From brother Ken and sister-in-law Angela. `Our Pop' No longer here but never forgotten. We remember her words of wisdom and kind deeds, and have happy memories of years gone by. Her favourite theme was time spent in her beloved Fleetwood when she said nobody had any money but everyone seemed happier than in modern times. Thank you dear Pauline for all the happy days spent with you here in Thornton, Fleetwood and Cambridge. Such happy days never to be forgotten and thought of with very great affection. God bless you Pauline. All our love always, from Ken and Angela.

Pauline was such a kind soul. She will be greatly missed by all staff members at the home. In a short 4 months she made a big place in my heart. I will never ever forget she always got ice cream after lunch and dinner. She loved fish Fridays and half of everything but her fish. I had the pleasure of talking with her and the ladies she sat with everyday. She had many many stories about her life which sounded amazing. I will forever miss her as I called her my work grandma. May of been a short 4 months with her in my life but she really made a big impact in my life. My heart breaks for your family losing such an amazing person.

Pauline also made sure her dinner table was in front of the window. She like seeing her grandson going to school. I'll remember her by the ice cream lady and half orders except for her fish that was full order of fish and half of everything else. Pauline will be deeply missed by all staff.
