There have been few days since my uncle's passing that he hasn't come to me in my thoughts. I miss him. As a young man Roy gave me some great lessons and advice to live by, and was always fun and calm. I loved going into the forest off Nicholson's Point road for adventures with him and my dad (Sandy) and the dogs ( Tara and Daisy). He loved to tell me stories about his life and work and he definitely had a knack for storytelling. We became good friends in my twenties and I often drove to Kingston to spend time together, those were good times. I'll always remember his kindness, his calm quiet way of being confident and personable. He loved his family and neighbors, and I'm so grateful to have known this man. Love you man.

Stopped in Brockville today to try to lookup my dear friend Roy...only to find his obituary.
Sad.
Roy was a brilliant and resourceful friend who was supportive when I had difficulties.

We are so saddened to hear the news about Roy. He was such a good neighbour and friend and we have missed him so much since he moved away from Nicholson's Point. He was always so kind to our kids when they were little - building dams in the ditch with Mike and being at the finish line for driveway bike races - and always offered a helping hand or advice when we asked. He loved the outdoors and walks with his dog Daisy. We have many good memories of Roy. Our heartfelt condolences to Patty, Sandy and their families.

I am so sorry to hear about Roy's passing. I am his neighbour on the other side of his house on Georgina St. During the 2 years that he lived here we had many little chats over the fence and in the driveway over the summer months. Roy often had useful advice regarding some household project I was working on. My daughter had many chats as well with Roy as she was home looking for work and he often encouraged her and offered some job search tips. We did not know him for very long, but he was a good neighbour and a kind man. Julie

Patty, Sandy and families,
I am so sorry to hear about Roy's passing. I have very fond memories of all of us growing up. Zac went to school with my son, Marc (Grieves). I remember Roy as being such a kind and loving soul. When I delivered Marc, Patty was in at the same time with Zac. Many memories at Welbourne Avenue Public School with Marc and Zac. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I enjoyed working with Roy at SLH Transport for many years. He was a very intelligent, hard working man. He was a valuable member of the accounting team. Personally I really enjoyed Roy's sense of humor. It helped to keep me sane during many a month end crunch at SLH. Roy was so loyal to his friends not to mention very kind. I know Roy's brother and nephews will miss him very much. I feel like I know them because Roy often spoke of them with so much love.
My deepest condolences to your family.
